Meet this week's Featured Designer - *Mandy King*

Happy Monday!! We'd love to introduce this week's Featured Designer, *Mandy King*! Mandy is a great Designer at MyMemories and we're sure you'll love her too! Here's some fun stuff Mandy wanted to share with you:

  My name is Mandy King and I live in Ohio with my husband and four children (two girls and two boys). Teaching sixth graders was my first career, but since having my first baby in 2001, I have been a stay-at-home mom. I started paper scrapbooking back in 1998 but discovered digital in 2005 and there was no looking back! I LOVE designing and working with bright colors is my favorite...if you find pastels in my creations, you know that I was forced OR had a moment of insanity! As far as my own scrapbooks go...don't ask! I am woefully behind (like YEARS), but my youngest goes to kindergarten next fall and I have lofty goals of catching up. Aside from scrapbooking, here's some random information about me...I love to read. My favorite genre is historical fiction, although I read all types of books. My favorite book is Gone With The Wind, but I adore the Harry Potter series, 39 Clues series, anything by Janet Evanovich, Anne of Green Gables and I’ve recently discovered – and devoured – the Mary Russell series by Laurie R. King. I almost always have a John Grisham novel in the works as well and have been known to read the same book many times over. My favorite season is Autumn, no question. It means football (go Bengals!), shorts with sweatshirts and the amazing colors as the leaves are changing. I’m not a fan of really hot weather, so I welcome the cooler temperatures. As a mom, I’d have to say that Christmas is my favorite holiday…I love watching the magic of the season through my kids’ eyes. Someday I’d like to create a new reality tv show, one where you take stay-at-home-moms and send them to some tropical paradise ALONE for a month – and have their husbands take over running the house and children. My husband is wonderful about me getting out for the evenings and even weekends (I go scrapbooking; imagine that!), but before leaving, I have to arrange the meals, carpools, be sure the laundry is done, do the shopping…you know the routine. I think the whole thing would be a complete hoot! (And I’d be watching from my island get-away, laughing while tears stream down my face!). I consider myself very blessed to have met so many wonderful people through digital scrapbooking. The supportive and encouraging community at My Memories just affirms my opinions that scrapbookers are among some of the most wonderful people on earth!
