MyMemories Blog: Meet Today's Daily Designer....Wink's Art Graphics!

Hi, MM Friends!

My turn to share… here goes! I love, love, love doing anything artistic. It’s just in me. I crammed every art, ceramics, sewing, photography class into my schedule that I could in school, and took some computer and graphic design classes at college and really enjoyed them.

I think my first artistic endeavor was when I was about 3 years old and drew a wonderful colorful “something” with crayon on the wall while standing on the living room sofa. I’m sure it spread out as far as I could reach. What a great, unending canvas!!! When my mother caught me (where was she?! probably diapering my brother) she simply handed me a wet cloth and told me I was to clean it... all of it… and that “we” don’t draw on the walls. Those old crayons were definitely not washable. I remember trying to clean it off more than I remember the drawing. Too bad. ;D Another time I thought I would give the bathmat a sculpting like the beautiful rug I had seen with the flowers and leaves and swirls and curls cut right into it. Didn’t work. I got into a lot of trouble for that one! Good going, Picasso!

I always hope the things I create bring some smiles and fun to those who use them. I’ve learned so much in the last 8 years or so about digital quality for images, but still feel like there’s so much more to learn. I’m so grateful to those designers who are willing to share their knowledge and abilities with other designers. I also really love using other designers’ CU products! It gives me a chance to add images to my kits that I might not have thought to include. There are so many talented designers and I am amazed by their abilities. Quite often I think “I will never be as good as….” or, “I will never be able to do that.” Just keep practicing and doing, I tell myself; you can’t progress if you don’t. I guess that goes for everything in life.
