This month we find ourselves in the middle of a worldwide pandemic! Who would have ever anticipated this?! In just a few short weeks, we have found ourselves, all isolating. We have learned new terms, “Social Distancing”, “Safer at Home”… We have all learned that we probably weren’t washing our hands long enough… will I ever be able to wash my hands again, and not sing “Row, Row, Row your boat”? (or some other little song). :D Last Sunday was Easter, and for the first time in my life, the day wasn’t spent, dressing up in new clothes, going to church, having friends over for a great meal, and hiding Easter Eggs. Instead, we got up, had a late breakfast, watched church, through a live stream on our TV, ate together as a family. I did have Easter baskets made for my kids, and they enjoyed those. Later we took a meal and a small Easter basket to drop off to my Dad.
During this time, I have been thinking about how this is going to affect our lives moving forward? My son’s Social Studies teacher called last week, and one of the things she said she was asking her students to do was to keep a journal, about what was happening and what they were doing during this time. “After all” she said, “this is going to be History”…. So how are you documenting this time. This is a great time, to make a scrapbook, to share this time with your grandchildren or great grandchildren. Make something tangible to leave behind, so that when the little ones today or those not even born yet, come and say, “We learned about the pandemic that happened in 2020, in school today, you can say, “You know what, I lived through that, and here is a book I made that tells you what it was like”.
I have a new kit out this month, “New Day, New Life”.
The following layouts were made by some of my very talented CT members, using my new kit and highlighting some everyday activities, or precious candid shots of their grandkids, and they have turned some “ordinary” photos into a precious memory.
I host 2 challenges on the My Memories Forum, every month. The first challenge is Scrapping My Every Day. I want to challenge you to be inspired to make a layout highlighting some of those everyday things. If you make a layout and post it in the challenge thread by April 30, I will send you a link for this fun Extras pack that coordinates with my kit, “New Day, New Life”.
Hope to see your beautiful layouts in my challenge threads, in the My Memories Forum.
