Designer Tip with Kathryn Estry

Were you a paper scrapper before you "went digital"?  If you were, you probably had lots of paper scraps that you could never throw away. Here's a way to use little strips of papers in your digital layouts and get the benefits of dimension and added interest at the same time.

You don't have to put your photos directly on a background paper.  In your MMS program, you can add shapes around and under your photo and then fill them with the various papers in the kit of your choice.  Remember to add just a little shadowing to each layer.  Papers aren't generally thick, so make your shadows on these layers gentle.

My talented Creative Team ladies are masters at using lots of papers under and around their photos to lift them up and add color to the page.  Just look at some of these beautiful examples!  All of the kits used in these layouts are available at My Memories, and these 6 bundles are 50% off for the rest of September, 2020.

Donna used my Watermelon Juice collection in her sweet and colorful page.

This fun layout by Lana was made with Game On!  Notice how the extra paper scraps work for Lana.

Kabra uses this technique often in her layouts, and I love them all!  She used the collections Giraffes R Us, Rainbow Safari, Wings of Lace, and my brand new Exclusive, Love Boat.

To thank you for reading this post, visit my store at My Memories and check out this pretty quick page (was also used as a freebie in the newsletter on September 12th so you may already have it).  I created it using my Just You and Me collection, and it will be FREE for the rest of this month.  (The Just You and Me Bundle is also 50% off through September 30.)

Now go have some fun and use up YOUR paper scraps!
