Scrap Inspiration by Happy Scrap Arts

Hi, my name is Eileen aka Happy Scrap Arts.

I am back this with a blog series full of inspiration to scrap your photos.

Do you use alphas or do you use the text tool in your scrap software?

I must admit, I do not use them a lot, and I do not make a lot of them too. I mostly use the text tool in my software.

But alphas can be great to use on your scrapbook page as they will often match the colors of the kit or collection that you are using. Some great effects can be used on letters to make alphas, like bevel, an outline, texture and even some decoration. And alphas are great to embellish a photo or scrap page.

Did you think about using the letters otherwise then just in a row? Look at this image, I rotated some of the letters and I did not place them all on a line. Some are higher, some lower. That’s a funny way to use an alpha. I also shadowed each individual letter so that I could place them over another one. I used one of the alphas from my new collection Together. The red uppers are decorated with a little holly leaf.

So, I added a background and decided to put this text on the bottom. Do you know that you can move all letters together? Just select them all by clicking on each one and hold down the "Ctrl" key.

You can also group them with a right click.

You can also fill the letters with a photo or a paper.

Place your text on the page, by using the letters you want from an alpha.

You can fill each letter with a photo or just some of them.

Then you can add your photos and embellishments.

I changed my background to match with the colors of the photo I used. And then I moved the word Christmas to the bottom too, just on top of the word Together.

Example made with my newest collection Together

I made this poster, hanging in my living room, in the letters I placed photos of my kids and family
