Q&A With The Designer: PapierStudio About Me Silke Lemcke, an artist at heart, living in a very touristy and picturesque mountain village near São Paulo, surrounded by nature, birds and creativity. Married for over 45 years, proud mom and grandma to little André (almost 3 years old). Passionate about bold, artsy, and grunge designs since 2008. Inspired by breathtaking landscapes, birdsong, and our growing olive plantation —dreaming of future olive oil production. Your favorite toy as a child was? I always liked riding my bike and playing ball with the neighbors. I was born and raised in a village in Rio de Janeiro. Tell us about something on your bucket list! Currently my son and his family (with my almost 3 year old grandson) are living in Beijing. Who knows, I might visit them at a future date. What was your favorite subject in school? At school I always liked mathematics and geometric drawing. But if it were today, I would be great at computers too! What is your favorite hobby? Currently I dedicate myself to folk art painting. Bauernmalerei, in German. I have a group of ladies and we meet every week to paint plates, hearts, wooden trays and/or many other accessories for the home.
